Packaging

My family is not vegetarian per se, but we do try to eat healthy. This usually includes vegetarian meals as Americans typically eat too much meat. Tonight I was opening a package of Boca Burgers and was rather disturbed to find that there was so much packaging inside. Each burger patty was individually wrapped in plastic. After some research on their site I found that this plastic is not recyclable. I decided to use their contact form to send them the following feedback:

Thank you for a wonderful tasting line of products. I’m very concerned about your packaging, however. I appreciate that the outer cardboard box on your Boca Burgers is recyclable, but the inner packaging seems like an utter waste. Not only is it plastic and not recyclable, but it is also excessive in the fact that each patty is individually wrapped.

I strongly urge you to improve your packaging to match the quality of your product. Thank you for your consideration!

I would ask that you try to notice what packaging you have in your life that seems frivolous and do what you can to 1) eliminate it from your conumption, 2) recycle it, or 3) voice your opinion to let companies know what you want. Companies ultimately are in business to make money, and they make more money if you’re willing to spend money on their products! Let them know what you want to buy (or what you don’t)!
